Peat moss and compost offer exceptional moisture and nutrient holding, while pine bark, rice hulls, and perlite create airflow and drainage to reduce fungal and algae issues.
Soil Mix Ingredients:
Peat moss, pine bark, composted wood fines, perlite, vermiculite, rice hulls, worm castings, feather meal, blood meal, soft rock phosphate, potassium sulfate, AZOMITE®, and mycorrhizae.
A 15-quart bag fills:
• four 50-cell trays
• fifteen to sixteen 1-quart pots
• thirty-two 4” pots
• three to four 1-gallon pots
If your plants have special drainage requirements, simply amend our mix for best results:
Succulents and Cacti:
Add extra perlite to improve drainage and reduce water retention. Use a 2:1 ratio of houseplant mix to coarse sand or perlite.
Ferns: Add extra-finely chopped sphagnum moss for higher moisture retention. Use a 2:1 ratio of houseplant mix to moss.
Orchids: Mix in large chunks of pine bark to provide better aeration and mimic their natural growing environment. Use a 1:1 ratio of houseplant mix to bark.
