Blood Meal - Organic Nitrogen Fertilizer
Blood meal is a fast-acting, all-natural fertilizer that provides your soil and plants with a quick boost of nitrogen in days rather than weeks.
Made solely from hydrolyzed, dried, and ground procine blood, this natural amendment is rich in nitrogen, which is:
- Essential for healthy plant growth
- Perfect for heavy feeders and long-season crops
This simple and easy organic source of nitrogen is broken down more quickly by microbes than other nitrogen sources like feather meal. Microbes convert the complex proteins into plant-available nitrogen over time. Use conservatively when plants are small.
Guaranteed Analysis:
Total Nitrogen (N) 12%
Available Phosphate (P2O5) 0%
Soluble Potash (K2O) 0%
Directions for Use:
Apply approximately 3 to 5 pounds (lbs.) per 100 square feet for new gardens or poor soil. For existing gardens:
- apply approximately 5-10 lbs. per 500 square feet per planting,
- approximately 20-40 lbs. per 2000 square feet per planting,
- approximately 125-250 lbs. per ¼ acre per planting, or
- approximately 500-1000 lbs. per acre per planting.
For new transplants, add 1-2 tablespoons per plant. For established plants and shrubs, side dress 2-4 ounces once a month during the growing season. For containers add 1-2 tablespoons per gallon of soil monthly for established plants. For fortifying potting soils and seed starting mixes, add 2 tablespoons per gallon of soil.
Note: A dust mask is recommended for applying dry fertilizer. Also, keep bag closed and stored in dry area.
Approved for Organic use. Manufactured in Arkansas.
