Bone Meal - Organic Phosphorus Fertilizer
Bone meal is a slow-release organic fertilizer that provides a steady supply of phosphorus to support strong roots, flowering, and fruiting throughout the growing season.
Made from steamed, dried, and finely ground bovine and porcine bones, this natural amendment is rich in phosphorus and calcium. It breaks down gradually as soil microbes convert it into soluble forms that plants can use.
For best results, apply before planting and mix into the soil. Keep in mind that a little goes a long way, and it's best to apply according to soil test recommendations.
Guaranteed Analysis:
Total Nitrogen (N): 3%
Available Phosphate (P₂O₅): 24%
Soluble Potash (K₂O): 0%
Directions for Use:
For new gardens or poor soils, apply approximately 2–4 lbs per 100 sq ft before planting. Apply dry to the surface and gently incorporate.
For existing gardens, apply approximately:
- 5 lbs per 500 sq ft per planting
- 20 lbs per 2,000 sq ft per planting
- 100 lbs per ¼ acre per planting
- 400-500 lbs per acre per planting
For new transplants, add 1–2 tablespoons per plant and mix into the planting hole or surrounding soil.
For established plants and shrubs, side dress with 2–4 ounces per plant once per month during the growing season.
For containers, add 1–2 tablespoons per gallon of soil for established plants.
For fortifying potting soils and seed-starting mixes, add 2 tablespoons per gallon of soil.
Storage and Safety:
Particles are extremely fine. A dust mask is highly recommended when applying dry fertilizer. Keep the bag closed and store it in a dry area.
Approved for organic use. Manufactured in Arkansas.
